Tour De Force Studios
Well Street, Hackney E9
With Hackney Empire just to the north, fashionable Broadway Market to the west and the art houses of Vyner Street just to the south, Tour De Force studios is a venue situated right at the centre of London's vibrant East End.
This large and unique warehouse space was set up just over a year ago as a rehearsal studio for the international touring company Tour De Force Theatre. Since then it has become much more. Professional photographers, film-makers, performance artists and musicians (including Nick McCarthy from Frans Ferdinand) have started to use the studios on a regular basis. It is particularly popular with music video production companies, owing to its very special urban feel and location.
Peter Joucla, artistic director of Tour De Force had an objective to create a space where creative people from all disciplines can develop their work, and he is well on his way to achieving this.
The main studio is six metres wide and twenty four metres long and can easily be adapted to host a wide variety of events, including rehearsals, live music events and one off studio theatre performances.
The studio has a wooden floor (unsprung but still better than concrete) and a grand piano.
In addition we can provide lights, props, costumes, backdrops, sound equipment and full technical support for any project you wish to develop at the space. We have experience in stage production, music production, video and photography.
Our daily dry hire fee is £180 and weekly its £800, though for longer periods this can be reduced.
You are welcome to contact peter@tdftheatre.com for more information and to arrange a visit. More photos of the space together with information about the company can be found on the website:
